We establish that the pseudo-physical or SRB-like measures—the existence of which is guaranteed—of $C^1$ expanding dynamical systems on a compact Riemannian manifold satisfy Pesin’s entropy formula. Furthermore, we provide explicit examples of $C^1\setminus C^{1+\alpha}$ expanding maps on the circle and on the $2$ -torus, and investigate their pseudo-physical measures.
